Welcome to Primary Paisley!

Hey there, and welcome to the very first blog post of Primary Paisley! I'm so glad you're here. Whether you're a fellow educator, a homeschooling parent, or a busy mom looking for ways to balance life and learning, you've found a cozy corner of the internet where education meets mindfulness and motherhood.

I'm the creator behind Primary Paisley, and my name is Meg (you can call me "Teacher Mom" for now!). Since 2013, I’ve been teaching a wide range of grade levels from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Teaching is my passion, and over the years, I’ve learned that helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally is a mission that goes beyond just the classroom.

Teacher by Day, Mom Around the Clock

I’m also a proud mom of three little ones: my energetic 5-year-old TJ, my spunky 2-year-old Marleigh, and sweet baby Mila who is just 2 months old. Add in my sassy French Bulldog, Paisley June, and you’ve got a full house—and the inspiration behind the name "Primary Paisley!"

Balancing life as a teacher and a mom of three under five is no easy feat, but it’s one that has shaped every aspect of my business. I understand what it’s like to juggle lesson planning, bedtime routines, and finding time for self-care. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others simplify their lives with resources that make teaching and parenting more manageable.

A New England Native Turned Florida Educator

Born and raised in beautiful New England, I grew up in Massachusetts and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Studies from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. In 2014, I packed up my classroom dreams and moved to Tampa Bay, Florida, for more teaching opportunities and sunshine (and let’s be honest—no more shoveling snow!).

A Passion for Mindfulness in the Classroom

In 2018, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and quickly discovered how powerful mindfulness and yoga can be in the classroom. I started an after-school yoga and mindfulness club that has been running ever since, and I’ve seen firsthand how these practices help students become more focused, calm, and confident.

Mindful teaching isn’t just a trend—it’s a lifestyle. And I bring that approach to every resource I create.

Creating Classroom and Homeschool Resources That Work

Since 2020, I’ve been designing academic and mindfulness-based resources for educators and homeschool families. You can find my work on Teachers Pay Teachers and Boom Learning, where I offer tools that help students succeed while also supporting teacher well-being. These aren’t just worksheets—they’re thoughtfully crafted activities designed to inspire both learning and emotional growth.

From engaging math centers to mindful breathing exercises, everything I create is tested in real life—by my own students, and often with my own kids at home too!

What You’ll Find on the Blog

This blog is going to be a mix of teacher tips, classroom resource highlights, mindfulness strategies, and parenting hacks. I’ll also be sharing reviews of my favorite products that have helped me stay organized, productive, and present—whether I’m managing a classroom or navigating life with toddlers and a newborn.

If you’re a teacher, a homeschool parent, or just someone who wants to raise kind, resilient kids while keeping your own sanity intact, you’re in the right place.

Let’s Thrive Together

At Primary Paisley, my goal is to help teachers and moms live a less stressful, more intentional, and joy-filled life. Whether it’s through a new math activity, a calming yoga flow, or a product recommendation that saves you 10 minutes a day, I’m here to support you on your journey.

Thanks for stopping by—and don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss any updates. Let’s build a community of educators and moms who lift each other up, one mindful moment at a time.
